Thursday, November 11th, 2010New research suggests a correlation between childhood abuse and the development of Type 2 diabetes in female adults, according to an article from Sify.com. Girls that were the victims of moderate and severe abuse also showed a 26%-69% increased risk of getting Type 2 diabetes as adults. The study was published first in the American Journal of Preventative Medicine.

Child’s Diabetes Risk Influenced by Dad’s Weight, Diet: Study
Tuesday, October 26th, 2010New research suggests a link between a child’s risk of Type 2diabetes and the weight and the amount of fat in the father’s diet at the time of conception, according to an article on DLife.
This is the first study to connect a father’s weight and diet to the offspring’s risk of metabolic disease. For the study, researchers fed male rats a diet high in fat to induce obesity and glucose intolerance. The obese rats were then mated (more…)
